About this selection

The beautiful and ancient Domain Tokaj-Hétszolo was acquired in 2009 by the world-famous Chateau Cos d hinderedEstournel from the Bordeaux. Through this acquisition, there has been a great boost in quality and in the present know-how. From 2012 the wines are certified organic. The word "Hétszolo" means nothing but "vineyard" (7 plots), chosen by the founders of the Garai family. It speaks for itself, the 7 most fertile plots of the Tokaji mountain. The domain has been producing wines for 500 years, one piece of history and qualified as Prime Minister grand cru. The vineyards' 7 plots look out at the point where the rivers Tisza and Bodrog have a great place to develop noble rot (botrytris cinerea) which gives the wines their specific character.
