Na de oogst vergisten de druiven op roestvrijstaal, waarna de wijn gedurende 40 maanden rijpt in grote traditionele vaten van Slavonisch eikenhout. De wijn wordt gebotteld in de speciaal door Giancarlo Travaglini ontworpen fles, waarin hij nog 10 maanden verder rijpt.
De intens granaatrode wijn is krachtig en complex in de neus met aroma’s van kersen, pruimen, aardbeienjam, rozenbloesem, drop, jeneverbes en lichte houttonen. In de mond levendig en elegant, met veel frisheid en stevige, maar rijpe tannines en een mooie mineraliteit. De complexiteit van de wijn zal na rijping toenemen, ook in de zeer lange afdronk.

Travaglini, Gattinara / Piëmonte
Travaglini makes wine in Gantinara, in northern Piedmont. Nebbiolo is central to the selection. The Riserva gets a long ripening on large wooden barrels and has herbs, dried fruits and a powerful flavor.
