Coriole Vineyards, McLaren Vale, Australië

About this selection

Coriole Vineyards was founded in 1967 by the Lloyd family, but the oldest vineyards are from 1919. The domain is located in the hills of the McLaren Vale south of Adelaide in the view of the ocean. The original farm was built in 1860 and now forms the center of the company's garden and cellar. Shiraz has been the grape for the McLaren Vale for 150 years and is also the most important grape for Coriole. The first wine was marketed in 1970 as Claret, made from Shiraz. Coriole is also very interested in Italian varieties such as Sangiovese. For Australian terms, the wines are refined and without too much wood ripening.
