Deze 1e cru ligt op een lager gelegen helling, met een zuid-oostelijke ligging, van de appellation. De naam "les Chaniots" is een verwijzing naar de eikenbomen die hier vroeger stonden. De wijn rijpt gedurende 12 tot 15 maanden op eikenhouten vaten waarvan éénderde nieuw. Het is een gulle witte wijn die op zijn best is 3 tot 4 jaar na zijn oogst.
