In de gemeente Monforte d'Alba staan de druivenrankenwaar de nebbiolo druiven groeien voor deze wijn in een op het zuiden geriochte wijngaard. de bodem is heeft een hoog gehalte aan kalk en mergel. Dit is een krachtige, dieprode wijn met de kenmerkende tannine's in de smaak.
