Lavaux St.Jacques is een 1e cru maar wordt vaak vergeleken met Grand Cru zoals "Le Chambertin" en "Mazeris-Chambertin", de bodem van deze twee Cru's is gelijk aan Lavaux St.Jacques, volgens kenners verdient Lavaux st.Jacques ook de Grand Cru status. 2023 is een jaar wat zeer goed kan rijpen, niet te hoog in alcohol met mooie rijpe tannine's en een goede zuurgraad.
