Let op: jaargang op foto wijkt af. De familie Olazabal heeft jarenlange ervaring in het maken van port en wijn. De kwaliteit staat hier altijd boven aan de lijst. 2018 is een geweldig jaar voor "Vintage" port. De opbrengst was laag in het jaar 2018. Deze Quinta is in 1877 opgericht door Dona Antonia Ferreira. De huidige eigenaar Francisco Javier Olazabal is de achter-achter kleinzoon van Dona Antonia. Naast de schitterende wijnen die hij maakt produceert hij ook een geweldige port.

The producer
Quinta do Vale Meão, port
In the easternmost part of the Douro against the Spanish border we find Quinta do Vale Meão. This very famous quinta is the birthplace of Barca Velha, the most famous and highly praised Portuguese wine. The quinta is owned by Francisco Javier de Olazabal, the great-grandson of Dona Antonia Ferreira who bought the quinta in 1877.
