Langer op hout gerijpte witte portwijnen zijn "in". Steeds meer huizen brengen een 7,8 of 10 jaar, op houten vaten gerijpte, witte port op de markt. Deze 10 jaar gerijpte Borges "Soalheira" is hier een uitstekend voorbeeld van. De druiven voor deze witte port groeien op de eigen wijngaarden van de Quinta da Soalheira in de Rio Torto vallei. De gebruikte druivensoorten zijn Malvasia-Fina, Gouveio, Rabigato en Viosinho. De port heeft een goudgele kleur. Een complex aroma van walnoot, hazelnoot en gedroogde vruchten. Ook ruik en proef je kruiden en iets van curry. In de smaak mooie zuren en een aangenaam zoet met wederom gedroogde vruchten en kruidigheid. Drink deze port niet te koud.

Borges makes port in different styles. The wood-grown Tawny and the white Soalheira show fruit and also nuts and dried fruits. The vineyards of Quinta da Soalheira in the Rio Torto Valley deliver grapes for the white port.
