De druivenrassen die gebruikt worden voor deze wijn zijn 70% Corvina, 20%Corvinone en 10%Rondinella. Zij geven een fruitige rode wijn met een volle ronde smaak, dit mede dankzij de rijping van 12 maanden op grote houten vaten. In de geur en smaak kruiden, gedroogde bloemen, braam, framboos en kers. Heerlijk bij grillgerechten en gerechten op basis van paddenstoelen.
