Deze 3 jaar oude Madeira heeft een volle, rijke zoete smaak. Een heerlijke after-dinner Madeira. In smaak staat hij dicht bij de Malmsey (zoet), maar deze Madeira is niet gemaakt van Malmsey druiven maar van de druivensoort Tinta Negra Mole. De druiven voor deze Madeira komen van het noorden van het eiland vlak bij Saõ Vicente en het zuiden bij Camara de Lobos. De Madeira is gerijpt volgens het Estufa systeem. Hierbij wordt de Madeira in tanks gedurende enige tijd verhit tot 45 / 55 graden Celsius om daarna weer af te koelen, dit proces wordt enige malen herhaald. Daarna volgde nog een rijping van 3 jaar op Amerikaanse eikenhouten vaten. Goed te combineren met desserts, gebak met fruit, chocolade of zachte kazen.

The producer
Blandy's, Madeira
Blandy's is part of the Madeira Wine Company, a family business of the Blandy's family with among others the brands Blandy's, Cossart-Gordon, Leacock's and Miles. Since 1811 the family has been present in the trade and production of Madeira wines, Chris Blandy the current CEO is the seventh generation. In the heart of Funchal, the family has its wine lodge in an old seventeenth-century monastery.
