Op het wijngoed Finca Carbonera liggen de hoogste wijngaarden van de Rioja. op 875 meter hoogte groeien de Chardonnay druiven voor deze wijn. Na de pluk ondergaat de wijn een gisting en rijping op eikenhouten vaten. Het bijzondere is dat de vaten die gebruikt worden niet gebrand (getoast) zijn maar gestoomd met water. Dit zorgt er voor dat de houtinvloed en smaak echt ondersteunend zij en dat er veel frisheid in deze wijn is gebleven.
