Avondale is één van de oudste wijnhuizen in Paarl. Wijnmaker Jonathan Grieve maakt wijnen met behulp van de natuurlijke eco-systemen. Het water van de Drakensteinse bergwatervallen stroomt naar beneden over de wijngaarden en de eeuwenoude rivierbedding, waar de wijnmakerij en wijnkelders over- en omheen zijn gebouwd. In de hete zomerzon zorgt dit water voor natuurlijke afkoeling van de druiven.
La Luna is een Bordeaux blend, maar wijkt toch qua smaak erg af van een Bordeaux. Het is echter wel een heerlijke wijn die zich al mooi presenteert na 7 jaren rijping op fles, maar zeker nog een hele mooie toekomst voor zich heeft.
