In de Outer Limit Range zoekt Montes naar druiven van wijngaarden met een speciale ligging, terroir en microklimaat. Door het koelere klimaat rijpen de druiven hier langzamer, dit maakt dat deze Pinot Noir wat frisser en subtieler smaakt in vergelijk met Pinot Noir van wijngaarden meer landinwaarts.
