Complexe rode Portugese wijn. Intens donkerrood van kleur. Met rijp donker fruit (cassis) en balsamico in de geur. Ook wat specerijen, door oudering op eikenhout. De smaak is krachtig met een mooi ontwikkelde tanninestructuur, wederom met zwarte bessen en kruidigheid. De afdronk is elegant en blijft lang nahangen. Dit is een wijn die het vergelijk met een goede Bordeaux zonder meer aan kan.
