De Touriga Nacional geeft in de neus iets van viooltjes en sinaasappelbloesem. De smaak is rond, zacht en rijk met tonen van kruiden, bessen en vanilletonen van de rijping gedurende twaalf maanden op Franse eikenhouten barriques.
